If you've read many braingunk blogs you'll already know how we feel about advertising. Personally I find it generally offensive and although to use the word hate might seem a little excessive… I hate it.

As the great Bill Hicks once said, "if there are any advertising people in tonight, do everyone a favour and kill yourself… no joke, no punch line, just kill yourself".

It's taken quite a lot of time and effort to create braingunk and now that it's here, we need to attract more readers and members to keep  this thing alive. But the normal method of achieving more public awareness and financing is… yep advertising. So you see we're trapped in a catch 22 type situation. Promoting braingunk is essential, but the main method of doing so would be to condone something that is at odds with the braingunk ethos.

And so as The Beatles said we're "Gonna try with a little help from my friends". Yes dear reader you... BRAINGUNK NEEDS YOU to help publicize and promote the site via word of mouth and mutual publicity.

Help encourage folks to drop by. If you know any writers who're looking to get their work online then send them over. If you know someone who reads a lot then tell them about all our free to read, exclusive content.

If you know someone who just bought an iPad and needs to desperately justify their expenditure by using it as an over priced ebook reader, then you know they're more than welcome in the gunk too.
